President Muhamud Buhari met at Abuja on Thursday with the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) speculated that the new boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was officially introduced to the president during his engagement.
On Wednesday, after a successful screening, the Senate confirmed Bawa, who was nominated by the President as vice chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on February 15.
Members approved Bawa's appointment after the Speaker of the Senate, Ahmed Lauan, voted vocally.
Bawa is an indigenous person in Kebby and an accredited anti-money laundering expert with a bachelor's degree in economics.
NAN reported that the committee was led at different times by Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Mrs. Farida Waziri, Mr. Ibrahim Ramold, Mr. Ibrahim Magu and Mr. Mohamed Omar.
The national assembly confirmed Bawa as the chairman of the anti-graft agency on Wednesday.
Bawa was screened for over two hours on the floor of the upper legislative chamber before he was confirmed.
