A gorilla and two lion tested positive for COVID-19 at Prague zoo.
A gorilla and two lions tested positive for the novel coronavirus at the Prague Zoo, which was closed under the blockade of the country.
Lion Jawan, Sussy and the male gorilla Richard tested positive today. So far, their symptoms have been mild. The lion caught a cold and coughed.
Richard is tired and loses his appetite," director Miroslav Bobeck said on Facebook.
Bobeck said that most of these animals may be infected by employees, and other animals will be tested. The Prague Zoo is in contact with other zoos that have seen novel coronavirus cases.
In January, a team of gorillas at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Park broke out with the novel coronavirus, sicken several of the eight members of the organization.
The Czech Republic is facing another surge in pneumonia cases caused by the novel coronavirus, with the highest per capita infection rate in the world.
