Sophie, the Grammy nominated artist died at the age of 34 in Athens

Grammy's nominated experimental pop musician and producer Sophie died in Athens at the age of 34.

The Glasgow-born artist works with Madonna and Charlie XCX.

Sophie's management said in a statement that the musician died at about 04:00 on Saturday in the Greek capital, where they have been living.

They said Sophie was a pioneer of new voices and one of the most influential artists in the past decade.

Her further statement by Transgressive explains how the "horrible accident" happened.

They were real about her spirituality. She climbed up to see the full moon, then slipped down, and they posted it online. She'll always be with us.

Sophie was also known as a transgender idol after confirming their identity in the 2017 video "It's Never Cry".

The artist's management said that they would be remembered not only for skilful production and creativity, but also for the information and visibility achieved. A symbol of liberation.

Pioneer

Sophie's innovative works draw on pop music and trance. Mix them with twisted and lost waveforms with underground dance music, creating an immediately recognisable and demanding sound.

Madonna, looking for Sophie, co-produced the 2015 single " ?? " Son, I'm Madonna; and Charlie XCX co-produced her rough and avant-garde EP, Vroom Vroom and the hit single The Afterparty with musicians.

Sophie's debut album Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides was released in 2018, which explored identity, non-compliance and reinvention, while expanding their trademark sound with longer and more exploratory tracks.

NME wrote in a four-star review that Sophie transcends the boundaries of pop music and realises the rare feat of making abstract and difficult electronic music, hitting your heart.

The album was subsequently nominated for Grammy's best dance/e-album.

The French pop drama Héloïse Letissier, also known as Christina and Queens, led the late star under the full name Sophie Xeon.
